The Ocean Party return with “In a Knot”, the first single from their forthcoming
sophomore album, “Social Clubs”(Out October through Birds Love Fighting).
“In a Knot “ comprises of layered guitars, warm Casiotone and introspective lyrics.
Following the release of the band’s debut “The Sun Rolled Off The Hills” in 2011,
The Ocean Party were quick to start work on Social Clubs, a fuller and more
cohesive album featuring the same shimmering guitars and pop sensibility.
The album was recorded at home by the band, mixed by Jack Farley (Twerps, St
Helens, Panel Of Judges) at Transient Studio and mastered by Casey Rice (Witch
Hats, Orbweavers, Aleks and the Ramps).
To celebrate the release of In A Knot, The Ocean Party will play a Saturday front-
bar residency at the Tote Hotel in Collingwood throughout July, joined by two
guests each week. Following this, the band has tour plans in the works for the
coming months, taking in some regional towns and state capitals along the way.

Market, from Melbourne, fuse soul and chillwave on a wonderfully woozy song with rubbery guitars & breathy harmonies. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 19, 2020
Thoroughly charming bedroom indie where songs are built on skeletal guitars, & wry lyrics & Sarah Records-style vocals take center stage. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 9, 2019
This Toronto group's sound unabashedly hearkens back to the bouncy indiepop of the Darling Buds and the Primitives. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 11, 2019
